Company Description:

Our client is an oil and gas exploration and production company with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. The company has approximately 775 million barrels of oil-equivalent proved, probable, and possible reserves and another 2.5 billion barrels of oil-equivalent contingent resources. These all-domestic reserves and resources are located primarily in the Permian Basin in west Texas which calls for the support of GIS technicians.

Job Description:
Will be responsible for georeferencing geographic data to a known coordidate system so it can be viewed, queried, and analyzed with other geographic data.
Candidate will be responsible for orthorectifying data with limited supervision.
Daily will work on Texas county maps shifting, rotating, scaling, skewing, warping and analyzing map data to bring them up to date.

Job Responsibilities:
On a daily the candidate will work independently but collaborate with a team as necessary; if additional assistanace is needed that is okay to ensure business is on track
Each person is expected to complete 1 map within 3-4 days; providing a high level of quality products.
Having experience ESRI, ArcMap 10.1 and up, and mapping concepts is a must as it is a hit the ground running opportunity
Must be detail oriented and meticulous in work

Work Environment:
Must be able to work independently in a cubicle maintaining high initiative
Must be able to work 40hours a week

Qualifications:
Minimum of 0-2 years of experience with a background in Geography or GIS Certification
Desired candidate must hold a Bachelors Degree that closely relates to Geography or Geographic studies or Certification in GIS
