Food & Water Watch is a leading national advocacy organization that runs dynamic, cutting-edge campaigns challenging the corporate control and abuse of our food and water resources. We are seeking an UnFrack the DNC Organizer to work with Food & Water Watch staff and grassroots partners to support the development and implementation of a plan to hold a large-scale rally in Philadelphia leading up to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia July 2016.
About UnFrack the DNC
A national leader in the fight against fracking, we have worked around the country and around the world for a ban on fracking, of recent note keeping fracking out of New York (with a ban) and Maryland (with a moratorium). With the Democratic National Convention descending on Philadelphia in July of 2016, we see an opportunity to mobilize the anti-fracking movement to influence national decision-makers, holding up the aforementioned state-level victories as models for national policy. Working with our partners in the national coalition, Americans Against Fracking, we will organize UnFrack the DNC. This will include a sustained presence of our movement in Philadelphia during the DNC, including a large march through the streets of Philadelphia, ending in Independence Mall, the weekend preceding the week of the convention.

The UnFrack the DNC Organizer will help us pull together this major project, bottom-lining this tactic. The UnFrack the DNC Organizer will work with Food & Water Watch's communications, online outreach, and organizing teams and with our partners to move forward the plan. This position will also hold grassroots mobilization responsibilities, helping us to develop the grassroots infrastructure necessary to mobilize thousands.
