Fabulous vintage brass etagere shelves designed by Milo Baughman for DIA (Design Institute America). Measures 48" w x 18" d x 72"h. Bottom section can go flush under the top section or be pulled out up to a width of 80". Photos show it pulled out part way. This versatile shelving unit would look great in home or office and fits with Art Deco, Hollywood Regency and Mid-century modern decor. Use it as an entertainment center (has compartments for records/books/magazines), or display shelves for your collection. It's constructed of shiny brass and has clear tempered glass shelves (which make it difficult to photograph, but it looks amazing in person).
Excellent condition for its age. Only a few minor surface scratches can be found on close inspection. They should be easy to be buffed out, but I have no experience doing that so I don't want to risk damaging it. No pitting or tarnishing to the brass or chips to the glass. Includes 12 pieces of glass plus an additional bottom piece that cannot be removed (at least not easily). Includes locking hardware for bottom section. It's hard to find this iconic piece intact and in this condition with NO glass missing. Clearly it was well loved and I've taken good care of it too. The price of the tempered glass alone makes this an awesome deal. Search online and you'll find many dealers asking $3,000 and it has sold for over $4,000.
Pick up is in Redding, CT. Sorry, no delivery available. It's a beautiful 60 mile drive from NYC or one hour from Poughkeepsie. You will need a truck to move this. It does not come apart other than the 2 parts you see.
