Job Posting: O`ahu Community Outreach Manager
The non-profit Hawai?i Alliance for Progressive Action (H.A.P.A.) is hiring a part-time Outreach Manager on O`ahu. This is a great opportunity for someone with proven experience who wants to work in a dynamic and fast-growing young organization.
H.A.P.A. is a Kaua`i-based Hawai`i-wide organization whose mission is to catalyze community empowerment and systemic change towards valuing ?aina (environment) and people ahead of corporate profit.
The position is located on O`ahu, but will involve coordinating with board members and staff across the islands.
JOB DUTIES INVOLVE:
~ Representing H.A.P.A. at events important in the progressive community on O`ahu
~ Networking and building relationships
~ Nurturing opportunities for coalition building
~ "Tabling" for H.A.P.A. at events/conferences
~ Helping to organize H.A.P.A. quarterly Community Events on O`ahu
~ Volunteer engagement
~ Occasional travel to neighbor islands to represent H.A.P.A. at events
~ A passion for H.A.P.A.'s mission
~ Active in the progressive non-profit community on O`ahu
~ Self-managing, ability to work productively without constant oversight
~ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people
~ Organized and detail-minded
~ Availability to attend events on evenings and weekends if needed
~ Must own or have access to laptop and internet for work
~ Some travel to other islands to support quarterly Board Meetings and Community outreach may be required.
HOURS: 20 hours per month with future growth potential
PAY: Commensurate with experience ($15-$18/hr)
