System Administrator (1 position - Raleigh): Position #60088341: The purpose of this position is to support, manage, and maintain physical and virtual systems. This is accomplished by monitoring and maintaining systems; troubleshooting and providing support per request for various system related issues with hardware and software; configure and add new services as necessary; and research, review, and recommend innovative possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Audits and manages systems by monitoring logs, servers, and appliances; manages Microsoft environment and applications; analyzing health and performance of virtual servers inside VMware for vCenter and vCenter Operations Manager; managing SAN environment and implementing virtual servers; creating and managing archive user and computer objects in Active Directory; applying system patches and upgrades to ensure security and creating new features. Manages backup and recovery solutions. Provides responses to regular audit requests. Troubleshoots issues by providing Tier 3 support for the computing services team; working with vendors to ensure timely resolutions; assisting with business applications and end users; and traveling to DR sites. Provides documentation and research by creating and maintaining installations; maintaining documentation; and reading publications. Education and experience: Two year associate's degree, diploma or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school with over three years up to and including five years of experience. Advanced Skills: Work requires advanced skills and knowledge in approaches and systems, which affect the design and implementation of major programs and/or processes organization-wide. Independent judgment and decision-making abilities are necessary to apply technical skills effectively. EMC VNX and VMWare experience preferred. Hiring Range: $59,888 - $77,855, depending on knowledge, experience, skills and, salary history. Closing Date: September 1, 2015.
