Residence Manager for Autistic Residential Program


BA/BS degree (Masters degree preferred)
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. (autism preferred)
Valid driver's license from state of residence
Excellent communication skills---verbal and written
Good computer skills---Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong supervisory experience

Reports To:Director, Residential Services

Job Responsibilities:

1.Provide on-going supervision and necessary training and feedback to direct care staff to promote effective job performance and skilled care and treatment of residents.
2.Serve as an expert and model in the understanding of each resident's needs and special alerts, and the implementation of their behavior and goal plans.
3.Ensure that staff is continually engaging consumers in structured learning activities and active treatment, in accordance with their individual program plan and interdisciplinary team recommendations.
4.Document on-going supervision and feedback given to direct care staff, using supervisor's observation records and other methods of documentation.
5.Ensure that house is clean and well maintained, and that all vehicles and property are in safe and working order.
6.Complete monthly, weekly and daily staffing schedules. Ensure that there is an adequate number of trained staff available on each shift. Submit look-ahead schedules prior to the beginning of the month for administrative review, and follow-up staffing records at the close of the month for quality assurance and oversight purposes.
7.Coordinate, schedule and participate in in-services and staff meetings on a regular basis and other meetings upon request.
8.Maintain and submit accurate employee records of attendance, accrued personal time, benefits, hours and wage information for payroll purposes.
9.Ensure that all employees and volunteers have necessary information on file, including evidence of annual tuberculosis testing; current First Aid/CPR, AMAP and SCIP-R certification, and other paperwork as required by agency policy, state regulations and federal law.
10.Ensure that fire safety and emergency procedures are carried out in compliance with policy and procedures.
11.Ensure that all direct support staff receive required training in areas specified and required by regulation and agency policy.
12.Provide direct consumer care and treatment as necessary, including the administration of medication in accordance with AMAP guidelines and agency policy.
13.Ensure that direct care staff receives the necessary training, guidance and feedback to complete necessary household tasks in a satisfactory manner (including meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, clothing repair, shopping and home repairs).
14.Ensure that all residents have adequate clothing and personal supplies at all times.
15.Ensure that necessary supplies for the safe and effective operation of the house are present (including food in accordance with diet plans, cleaning supplies and equipment, office supplies, etc.)
16.Ensure proper implementation and documentation of individual treatment plans and group recreational programming.
17.Maintain case disbursement receipts and forward to main office for accounting.
18.Provide resident banking system in the house.
19.Schedule staff/supervisor in order to provide necessary coverage at all times.
20.Maintain communication with shift supervisors, team leaders, active treatment coordinator and designated staff of daily events.
21.Maintain on-going contact with consumer day programs and other providers of care and treatment to the consumers.
22.Serve as an interdisciplinary team member and advocate for all consumers served.
23.Complete occurrence and incident follow up as necessary and in accordance with agency policies and IRC recommendations.
24.Communicate relevant information regarding needs of consumers and house to agency administration as requested.
25.Respond to emergencies, crises, and unforeseen circumstances in a responsible and conscientious manner, consulting with agency administration as necessary and appropriate.
26.Be available on an on-call basis as needed for consultation and relief.
27.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
