Emmaus Public Library is seeking an energetic, outgoing person to manage customer service aspects of our library Front Desk, and provide customer reference assistance as needed. At least two years' experience managing either library circulation desk or bookstore required. Must have advanced knowledge of automated systems and reports. Must be able to discuss books with customers. MLS desirable.

Primary responsibility will be to provide Front Desk customer assistance for both Circulation and Reference. Most time will be spent at the Front Desk. Provide readers advisory, help with computers and e-book downloads. Assist library customers and resolves checkout, payments, registration, and circulation issues. Generate overdue letters, logs, and reports.

Additional responsibilities:
Supervise ten Front Desk volunteers.
Create and maintain customer service policy manual.
May be asked to select and catalog a/v materials and/or help with marketing material.

Average 35 hours/week. Monday through Thursday, one evening per week, and two Saturdays per month. Exact schedule is flexible. Salary $15-17/hour. No health benefits. Vacation and sick leave after six months. Wear your jeans to work! State and FBI clearances required upon hire. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, move freely, and lift up to 40 pounds. Open until filled.
