Family living in Lincoln Park with 8 y.o. and 11.5 y.o. boys and 10 y.o. girl is seeking a professional, reliable and organized full-time nanny/house manager. The position is for Monday and Wednesday at 12:00pm-9:00pm, Thursday at 2:00pm-8:00/11:00pm and Friday at 2:00pm-8:00/11:00pm (Thursdays and Fridays will be rotating with early and later shift), guaranteed 40-45 hours per week. Nanny is required to Flexibility is required as family's schedule changes frequently. Occasional mornings and overnights are required. Nanny must be willing to travel with family to beach house on east coast for six weeks each summer. Nanny is responsible for kids between 3:00/4:00pm-8:00-11:00pm. Children attend Latin School in the Gold Coast, which is a short drive from the family's home. Before school pick-up, house management and personal assistant tasks should be completed: running errands, managing family's calendars, scheduling activities for kids, preparing activity bags for children, packing bags for children prior to family vacations, travel planning/arrangements, event planning, organizational projects around home, scheduling contractors and work to be completed around home, etc.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in child-related field (Early childhood or elementary education, child psychology, child development, etc.), dog lover, willing to assist with homework and school projects, experienced with similar aged children and capable of building good rapport with kids, experienced working with children who have allergies, comfortable driving personal or family vehicle to transport kids and run errands for family (vehicle is preferred by not required of candidate), comfortable working collaboratively with other domestic staff and stay-at-home mom, willing to be an extension of parents and become a part of the family, willing to assist with day-to-day functioning of a busy family and household, flexible schedule, fun-loving personality, hard working, proactive, organized, detail-oriented, efficient, self starter, engaging, active, positive, energetic, patient, calm demeanor, collaborative and communicative. Candidate must have previous experience in similar position(s) that include full-time nanny experience along with executive assistant and/or highly detailed and demanding house management responsibilities. Compensation is $50K (negotiable based on experience), $18 per hour net for overtime hours, $100 per overnight net while working overnights in Chicago, three weeks paid vacation, 7 government holidays and annual raise and bonus. Start date is end of August.

Qualifications:

Enjoy playing with natural objects, hanging out in the backyard, exploring parks off the path, meeting and observing insects and animals, and getting messy
Actively engage and include our children in day-to-day tasks, such as trips to the grocery store to foster independence, and meaningful learning experiences
Seek to empower children as much as possible and in every part of the day by regularly challenging, facilitating, and scaffolding their development in a supportive and loving manner
Provide a rich literacy environment in which words, reading, and language are meaningful, accessible, and fun!
Have an understanding of the importance in literacy; engage in emergent reading and writing skills (through art, play, etc.); foster meaningful connections with text in the environment and support child-led conversations.
Handle brief daily nanny log (provided for you to complete)
Have a clean driving record, current drivers license, and proof of auto insurance
Keep the kitchen, play room, and children's bedroom tidy
Grocery shop at least once per week (if desirable to candidate)
Run errands and be willing to do some house projects (if desirable to candidate) and handle things around the house -- receiving deliveries, service providers, etc.
Have an understanding of/interest in child development
Have an understanding of developmentally appropriate play and how children learn
Be active and fit
Open to communication and collaboration with parents

Requirements:

2-5 years of full-time nanny experience with similar aged children
Bachelor's degree (Education or Early Childhood Development preferred) from four year accredited program
Three-four references from childcare positions
Driver's license and clean driving record
Background check, motor vehicle check and drug test

Compensation:

$50K + PTO
$18/hour net overtime
$100/night net working overnight
3 weeks paid vacation
7 government holidays
