Camp POSTCARD, Peace Officers Striving to Create and Reinforce Dreams, was established by Volunteers of America in Maine, Wyoming and Montana over 10 years ago and has served thousands of children in a week long summer camp that joins law enforcement officers with 5th and 6th grade children. Trained law enforcement officers work as "camp counselors" for one week during the summer, leading children through a variety of games, exercises, outdoor experiences, and leadership development activities. Summer 2016 will be the inaugural year for Volunteer of America's Camp POSTCARD Colorado.
Bachelor's degree in education, human services or related area. Management and/or supervisory experience required. Experience with successful development and implementation of large projects required. Camp oversight experience preferred. Experience with youth and youth programming required. Proficiency in computer skills and related word processing, data management, and Internet computer software
Design, deliver, and evaluate camp program that meets the needs and interests of the camp's target populations and ensure their delivery in a safe and quality manner. Oversees the daily operation of the summer, weeklong Camp POSTCARD including program, camper, staff and volunteer supervision. Furthers the mission of Camp POSTCARD through the development and management of program, as well as financial, marketing, and strategic operations. Works in collaboration with law enforcement and consultants. Prepares and maintains documentation in compliance with agency and funding sources.
SALARY:$18.60 per hour
HOURS: 30 hours per week flexible within Monday - Friday 8-5 timeframe
