Overview: Part of 3-4 member team working with crew Operator during 8 hr or 12 hr swing shifts. Forklift skills required. Below is a list of job duties:
1.Talk to prior shift to discuss quality, problems, and trucking schedule.
2.Check with Operator, lab, and support tech on a regular basis to review on quality status. Adjust mix after discussing with Operator.
3.Keep notes of problems and solutions to problems. Keep them for your reference and pass them along to other crew members.
4.Run fiber press.
5.Grab scrap paper bales with lift truck and account for all tags off bales.
6.Remove all wires from bales and put in recycle container.
7.Do not set up excessive batches on floor. It makes them too hard to adjust the mix.
8.Check paper bales for contaminants (trash, plastic, cardboard, etc.). Ask questions if something looks unacceptable. You are required to learn about paper quality. Break open every bale.
9.Keep a good log sheet of what goes in each batch and what row it came from in facility. It helps to track problems at the source.
10.Understand the computer and input requirements. Account for all bales produced, shipped or run through the system. Attach label to each bale.
11.Ship loads per shipping schedule and fill out proper shipping paperwork.
12.Load outbound trucks in a timely manner. Get additional help if needed but the process need to be your top priority.
13.Understand how the equipment works. Be able to troubleshoot, adjust and conduct minor repairs.
14.Housekeeping of press, forklift and surrounding area. Conduct safety check of forklift at the beginning and end of your shift.
15.Daily forklift inspections and blow forklift down. Add fluids as needed. Alert Manager of any repairs needed. Repairs are free as long as we don't cause the damage or ignore existing problems.
