Overview: Part of 3/4 member team working and leading shift crew during 8 hr or12 hr swing shifts. The Operator is the process technical lead for the pulping process from the beginning of the waste material to the finished product manufactured to company and/or customer specifications.
1.Work with Tech Support for proper batch specifications (quality and size) and communicating batch timing with entire shift team.
2.Communicating with prior shift for quality and production information and possible trouble spots in the process.
3.Housekeeping of process area and ensuring the crew is working safely during entire process.
4.Operation of the pulper and process screens to ensure proper quality and production requirements are met.
5.Properly track pulper input log (waste material in) and keep notes of the problems encountered during shift to transfer this information to next Operator working.
6.Monitor chemical usage to optimize efficiency.
7.Monitor wastewater system to remove solids and work with sludge system to keep up with changes made to process.
8.Understand the process flow and be able to make decisions, adjustments and troubleshoot flow problems effectively.
9.Keep a good log sheet of what goes in each batch and what row it came from in facility. It helps to track problems at the source.
10.Understand Lab testing procedures and be able to perform lab tests as required to ensure proper quality specifications are met.
11.Work with lab technician to review results and make required adjustments when necessary.
12.Coordinate and review with Plant Manager production goals and actual results to meet stated productivity goals and maximum efficiency of pulping system.
13.Ability to operate forklift to assist with operations when required.
14.Experience and ability to handle hazardous chemicals safely and use proper PPE as required when working with or around hazardous chemicals.
