REPORTS TO: Safety ManagerFLSA CLASS: Hourly
FULL TIME POSITION
The Log Clerk is responsible for monitoring, verifying, and reviewing all information processed in regards to logs and the hours of service compliance for the company. Identifies drivers that are not using the MCP50 as trained and provides actionable information to the Training Managers and others for follow-up. Assists drivers in the editing process to correct errors. Assists others in the department on a needed basis.
Ensures paper logs received are scanned to RAIR each day and a copy scanned to Log Services for entry into the MCP50.
Will be familiar with accessing screens for Company, Board and individual driver.
Will be familiar with 4 or 5 basic reports that are available through the Omnitracs system.
Will understand the various ALERTS they will receive (either automatically or via Log Services).
Will understand the log editing process, and be able to assist/coach drivers through basic edits.
Will understand how to coach a driver through very basic troubleshooting in the event of an ELD malfunction.
oPerforms Omnitracs reset via 800#
oCan log driver into classroom MCP50 to log him off the tractor unit
oIf cannot correct, informs driver to initiate manual logging and to contact Log Services.
Will ensure that all Roadside Inspections, Fuelings, Drug/Alcohol tests and accidents are accurately logged, Current within 1 week of event.
Performs daily spot-checks of 20 logs to ensure proper use of manual Duty Status change, approving logs regularly, pre/post trips are logged, no excessive editing, and trailer and load number entered
Can print paper copies of E-logs as needed.
Understands the roles of the Driver Manager, Log Services, and Safety in the ELD process.

Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to work with various software and inter-net systems.
Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills required.
Sound judgment, initiative, decision-making, and planning and organizational skills required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
General speaking ability required.
Ability to move around the office settings efficiently required.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time required.
