Marin Medical Practice Concepts, Inc is looking to hire a Medical Records Clerk for our Greenbrae clinic.

Primary Purpose: Maintains records by preserving, moving, organizing, relabeling, retrieving, re-filing, and storing as it pertains to a medical office practice. Keeps an accurate inventory pertaining to storage, life cycle, retention, classification, identification, destruction dates and shredding of records.

Essential Functions:
Scan daily documents and sort in EHR (Electronic Health Record) to the appropriate files.
Scan files to EHR program and input/update information.
Organize and request scanned files with Corodata.
Extract information from prior records and add the EHR.
Maintain and preserve confidentiality of sensitive records according to HIPPA guidelines
Research, copy and process medical record requests from patient or appropriate entity according to current laws and procedures and ensure accurate and appropriate copy resolution.
Maintain copy supplies to support office functions in timely fashion
Support front office functions i.e.: mail, reception, assist patients and phone calls
Perform special projects and other duties that are requests from supervisor or physician to meet current needs of the medical office i.e.: prepare vendor lunches
Promote team approach by demonstrating an ability and willingness to work with other office staff to improve overall office performance and achieve office objectives
Maintain professional demeanor, manner of dress, and behavior at all times

Required or (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Ability to multi-task priorities maintaining quality and speed of service
Ability to reach overhead and below knee to both pull and file charts all day
Get up and down quickly from seated position frequently to handle charts and copy documents
Assist in preserving damaged books, medical charts
Perform problem solving in the absence of the supervisor
Basic skills in reading, writing and math
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to maintain high levels of concentration and attention to detail
Knowledge of laws and regulations that govern medical office practices
Equivalent to a high school diploma; (1) year working in medical office database both scheduling
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficient
Accurate data entry skills
