Boston Market Corporation, serving our customers since 1985, offers fresh, home-style meals -- from rotisserie chicken, turkey, meatloaf and brisket to high-quality side dishes -- in more than 470 restaurants from coast to coast. We are seeking a Restaurant Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager at one of our Boston Market locations. You will oversee team members and their Shift Leaders as they prepare and serve food, and will ensure smooth day-to-day operations in your assigned restaurant. Restaurant Assistant General Manager -- Food Service Management
As a Restaurant Assistant General Manager, you will assume overall responsibility for restaurant operations in the General Manager's absence. You will build store profitability by following established procedures, operate and ensure compliance with prescribed policies and practices, and assist with the recruitment and training of restaurant employees. In addition, you will work with management to build our brand image in the local community.
Specific duties for the position include:
Ensuring that Boston Market restaurant guests and catering customers are served properly and in a timely manner
Investigating and resolving customer complaints regarding food quality or service when the General Manager is absent
Upholding sales and service techniques in order to ensure a great guest experience
Assisting in the development and recruitment of employees
Monitoring employee performance and training
Maximizing profit by controlling P&L items
Ordering food, equipment, and supplies while maintaining OFC procedures
Implementing the General Manager's plans to meet sales objectives
Maintaining appropriate employee records/documentation in order to ensure that the company is compliant with local/federal agencies
Following established human resource procedures
Directing the cleaning of the dining areas and the washing of kitchen utensils, and equipment to comply with QSC and government sanitation standards
Monitoring the actions of employees and patrons on a continual basis in order to ensure the personal safety of everyone
Restaurant General Manager -- Retail Food Service Management
As a Restaurant General Manager, you will serve as a role model and teacher to your team. You will create an environment in which you and your team embody our values, and will also provide leadership to team members so that they deliver a great dining experience for our guests. This will require that you maintain consistently high standards, model a passion for service and attend to details.
Specific duties will include:
Leading, developing, training and motivating your team and fellow managers into high-performing teams
Building sales and guest counts through leadership of team and involvement in the community
Identifying and developing team members for future leadership roles
Managing team member performance with clear feedback, recognition, reviews, coaching/teaching, and discipline
Maximizing sales and profits by upholding sales and service techniques in order to ensure a great guest experience
Modeling ways to delight guests and team members in order to deliver an excellent guest experience
Maintaining a sparkling clean restaurant, ensuring that QSC standards are achieved, serving high quality food, and showing genuine concern for guests
Increasing sales and maximizing profit by ensuring that all P&L items are controlled and that all company objectives are achieved
Maintaining appropriate employee records/documentation to ensure that the company is compliant with local and federal agencies
Restaurant General Manager -- Retail Food Service Management
As a Restaurant General Manager, you must be a self-motivated, dedicated and outgoing leader who can manage your team with integrity, honesty and knowledge while promoting the culture and values of Boston Market. You must also be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to value change and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is also important that that you display excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills as well as a dedication to providing exceptional customer service.
Specific qualifications for the position include:
Minimum 3 years experience in restaurant/retail management
Advanced working knowledge of restaurant operations, financials, and control systems
Proven track record of passionate customer service
Ability to develop team and assistant managers within their store to deliver legendary guest service experiences every day
Ability to manage with integrity, honesty, and knowledge while promoting the culture and values of Boston Market
Strong organizational skills
Ability to value change and work in a face paced environment
Basic computer skills
Bachelor's degree, preferred
Interacts daily with external guests as well as working alongside management team and team members. Frequent contact with regional manager, senior regional manager, HR manager, and various field support and support center personnel.
1) Withstand temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or less and 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more, 2) move throughout the restaurant for extended periods of time (up to 10-12 hours per day), 3) move 50 lbs. for distances of up to 10 ft., 4) balance and move up to 25 lbs. for distances of up to 50 ft., 5) understand and respond to team members' and guests' requests in a loud environment, and 6) perform basic math and understand finances and cost management., 7) Bend, stoop and reach in order to load and spit chicken, stock shelves, serve customers and clean the store.
