Are you tired of asking students if they brought a check for tuition? Are you fed up with parents constantly demanding that you give private make up lessons? Do you feel cheated when students don't show up, wasting your time, and then want a makeup lesson? If you join the faculty at Rochester Academy of Music, you'll never have these problems again!
Let us take all of the headaches out of running a music studio. We handle all the scheduling, billing, and tuition collection for you. You get paid whether the student shows up or not. You won't have to give private makeups again. Ever! All you do is teach!
We are looking for bright, self-motivated, friendly teachers of violin, viola, cello and double bass. This is PT, and substitute work is available. You set your own days and hours. It takes time to build a roster of students, but if you are patient, we will advertise to attract new students. Keep your day job, and teach a couple nights per week with us to earn extra cash. Send your resume and cover letter to the email address listed. You will be contacted for an in-person interview, if you are selected.
Why Teach at Rochester Academy of Music?
1) You will never have to collect tuition.
This is huge, as every home teacher knows what it's like to get stiffed on tuition. Even if it's late, most teachers are non-confrontational artists who hate having to ask their clients for money.
If you teach for us, you'll never have to ask a client, "Did you bring your money today?" Our Office only accepts electronic tuition. Teachers are never involved with these transactions.
2) If the student doesn't show, you still get paid.
If you've taught for any length of time, you know how bad it feels when a student goes AWOL and their tuition has not been collected. This is one of the strongest incentives for you to teach with us. Even if the Academy gets cheated (sometimes we do, as the credit card will come back declined or the check will be Insufficient Funds), you still get paid for the lesson you invoice us, because you showed up and were scheduled to do the job!
3) We offer competitive pay.
4) We protect your privacy and never give out your contact info.
You probably know that some clients can be pushy, and will call you at the last minute to cancel, or possibly give you a hard time. The Academy was designed to take care of you, the teacher. A big way we take care of you is to respect your privacy and act as a buffer between you and the client. If a client wants to talk to you outside of their normal weekly lesson, we have you call them from the office phone.
5) A helpful office staff.
There will always be someone in the Office you can refer clients to if they have a question. The Office will do all your scheduling and answer client questions.
6) We mail-order any materials or books you recommend to your students.
For your convenience, we mail-order on-demand. Parents enjoy not having to hassle with finding music books, and you will, too.
7) A full-time marketing department.
If you are teaching on your own, what happens if half of your students quit? At Rochester Academy of Music, we have a full-time marketing department constantly working to get new students for you. Plus, you will never have to raise funds for the academy. We will keep your studios full as long as you do a good job with the students you get.
8) Opportunities to earn extra cash by subbing for other teachers.
During the summer and throughout the year, you can earn additional income by subbing for other faculty members.
We are always looking for friendly, reliable teachers with a passion for working with young people. We teach piano, voice, guitar, woodwinds, brass, strings and percussion.
