Night Vision Manufacturer needs a highly organized and positive team member to manage the Purchasing Department. This position works with Management, Sales, and Manufacturing, as well as Shipping and Receiving. The ideal candidate would have a background in the electro-optics, electronics or automotive industry with experience in purchasing and MRP. Candidate must be very detail oriented and be able to Multi-Task in a busy manufacturing environment.

All Negotiation/Purchasing Responsibilities
Responsible for procurement of all manufacturing materials
Prepare and solicit RFQ's, competitive bids, quotations and proposal for items from vendors
Negotiate with potential and current suppliers/carriers as to ensure quality of products, timely delivery, and favorable payment terms at the lowest cost
Prepare and issue purchase orders
Review open order report, confirm delivery dates and expedite urgent orders/deliveries
Resolve receiving issues
Create and maintain Bill of Materials in MRP System
Research markets and alternate sources of materials
Use and improve MRP system/process to optimize inventory levels
Continuously monitor inventory levels
Intrigue role during yearend inventory audit working very closely with accounting and manufacturing
Provide transportation solutions for inbound shipments
Focus on freight-cost reduction
Create packing slip invoice for Samples and Demo equipment sent out
Create monthly insurance report
Prepare cost analysis and prepare cost sheet for all quotes for sales order and potential sale orders
Request RMA's from Vendor to rerun defective materials
Verify that all manufacturing orders are completed in compliance with the sale order
Keeping both manual and electronic filing system for purchasing department

Other duties may be assigned

Military background a plus
3 year Manufacturing, Purchasing Management/Negotiation Experience
Proven experience in negotiation with supplier for cost savings
Thorough understanding of mutable levels of bill of materials
Awareness of international requirements for import shipments
Vendor management and purchasing certification a plus
Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent Computer Skills with an ability to learn new software quickly and troubleshoot
Thorough knowledge of using Excel Spreadsheets, Creating Spreadsheets and formulas
High-level of problem-solving ability
Self--guided Manager who takes ownership of projects
High School diploma; college degree preferred
