POSITION SUMMARY:
Buckelew Programs' mission is to enhance the quality of life of individuals and families in our community by providing mental health & addiction services that promote recovery, resilience, and hope.

The Service Provider II assists clients with personal hygiene, room care and laundry; performs general housekeeping and basic maintenance tasks ensuring the safety of clients; keeps program staff informed about clients; assists with meals and provides medication reminders; provides transportation as appropriate; and generally assists clients with support in their recovery from the symptoms of mental illness and/or addiction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Assist MAIL Program members with personal hygiene, room care, and laundry in a manner that is helpful, yet responsive to their readiness to take on increased responsibility.
2.Perform general housekeeping tasks (vacuuming, dusting, dishwashing, etc.)
3.Perform basic maintenance tasks. Assist in ensuring the safety of members by participating in household safety checks and supporting members in safe behavior.
4.Keep program staff informed of the general tone and mood of the members, and act as a positive role model.
5.Assist with meal planning, shopping, and cooking meals daily.
6.Support members in their recovery from the symptoms of mental illness and, when appropriate, from addiction.
7.Remind members of times to take medication.
8.Participate in and support program social activities.
9.Provide transportation as determined by the team. Teach use of public transportation system.
10.Assist members in accessing community resources.
11.Participate in team meetings. Communicate regularly and effectively with team members using voice mail and direct contact.
12.Implement program and treatment goals consistent with the program structure and philosophy.
13.Attend educational and/or training opportunities as directed by the Team Leader and Program Director.
14.Meet routinely with supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience: One or more years' experience working with disabled or elderly adults, or equivalent. One or more years' experience with housekeeping duties. Training as a Peer Provider desirable. Experience with people with a mental illness preferred.
2.Personal: Ability to relate well to others, to be patient, work as part of a team, accept supervision, and to be dependable and responsible in completing assigned work tasks. Must have a valid California driver's license and personal auto available for use on the job.
3.Physical Requirements: Physically capable of the following intermittent activities: stretching, bending, kneeling, twisting. squatting, reaching above and below the shoulder, pushing, pulling, grasping and lifting up to 40 pounds in weight. Physically capable of the following extended activities: driving, writing, standing and sitting.

Status: This position is regular, full-time, non-exempt. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
