SALES ASSISTANT Job Label: RRBS_SAA The purpose of this position consists of supporting the sales staff by providing administrative, clerical, customer support, follow up with customers, completing orders, and process sales leads in an efficient and professional manner while adhering to established company policies. Job Duties/Responsibility :
- A solid understanding of Customer Service relations
- Contributes to team effort at all times
- Compiles various reports as requested by management
- Gathers samples for packaging and shipping
- Greets and assists customers on the sales floor
- Assists customers to estimate cost and quantities required
- Informs customer of unit prices, availability, and shipping date
- Enters and/or corrects customer information in data system and maintains customer base in system as instructed by management
- Ascertains credit status of customer prior to arranging for customer pick up or delivery
- Accurately writes orders or enters data into computer, to determine total cost for customer
- Takes accurate delivery directions from customer and asks about job site conditions that might be critical for the delivery such as ground conditions, accessibility and location for unloading, etc.
- Reviews and edits orders for correct price and nomenclature
- Routes orders to dispatch for distribution to yard personnel for product preparation, loading and shipping purposes
- Records or files orders received by expected delivery date for follow up purposes
- Assists with the servicing of existing accounts and establishing new accounts
- Assists with sales efforts by learning about existing and potential volume of customer base
- Follow up on sales leads and perform weekly call back tasks on delivered orders to secure satisfaction of product and delivery and if anything further is needed by customer
- Informs customers of new items, discount policy, no return policy, credit terms, and all other items as instructed
- Respond to emails, phone calls, and other forms of inquiries. Ensure they are followed up and answered promptly.
- Keeps sales team and management informed by submitting activity and results reports (i.e.: daily
call reports, and weekly work plans as required or requested by management)
- Assists in resolving customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions;
preparing reports; making recommendations to management
- Assists accounts receivable department as necessary related to overdue accounts, COD’s, and with collection calls when necessary
- Assists with inventory checks as required and notifies purchase order department of orders that would deplete or reduce inventory by a substantial amount
- Assists with production, sales, yard personnel and shipping to expedite or trace missing orders or shipments
- Assist Fabrication Dept. in the preparation process and in remaining point of contact for the customer
- Participates with trade shows as required
- Be self-motivated, remain productive
- Perform general housekeeping of sales area
- Ensure safety of self and others at all times
- Continue to apply product and product application information as it is learned to contribute to team effort
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; etc.

- Ability to work under deadline pressureRequired Education/Experience/Training:High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) year prior experience in Customer Service or as Sales Assistant or combination thereof
Must have knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word
Must possess math skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and have basic math skills which include various units of weights and measures, such as pounds/tons/square footage/ linear footage
Must have a good understanding of geography with the practical skills required to read maps, ability to give job site directions
Must have the language skills necessary to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Must have the reasoning ability to be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:Due to possible travel on company business a valid PA driver’s license is required?Physical Demands of Job:Reasonable accommodations as required by local, state, or federal law will be considered that do not cause an undue hardship on Rolling Rock Building Stone Company.Weight over 50 pounds requires usage of proper lifting equipment. If equipment is not feasible for a specific task, assistance of other employees is a must. Weather and Climate Demands: Main job function requires employee to sit for most of the day. Occasionally employee will stand, walk, squat, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Job requires the physical ability to use hands/fingers for repetitive actions such as: Grasping and fine manipulationWork may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.Job may require contact with moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and/or fumesThis job involves both indoor and outdoor work areas. The outdoor environment requires the ability to work in all types of weather and climate conditions throughout the year.Training:
Training will be provided as per job, company and MSHA requirements

• General Laborer as required based on company needs
• Assembly of Sample Boards
• Assists with Winter maintenance
• General Housekeeping of work area
