Turbo the Flying Dog Hosts Kids for an Afternoon of Reading at Frederick County Animal Control
Kids and parents are invited to join the stars of the Turbo the Flying Dog book series for a day of reading and rescue at Frederick County Animal Control. Children are invited to practice their reading skills with Turbo and Olive, two friendly and gentle pups. They can bring their favorite book or choose from a selection of books onsite, including Turbo the Flying Dog and Turbo Learns to Fly. Authors Kelly Kennedy and Victoria Zajko will be on site to talk about their experiences with animal rescue, including Turbo's adoption and first experience flying in a plane!
After reading, parents can accompany their children to view the dogs and cats available for adoption. Animal Control staff will be on hand to discuss adoptions with interested families.
Read and Rescue is a free event. Kennedy and Zajko encourage making a donation to Frederick County Animal Control, and will be offering a discount code towards an online book order for anyone that makes a monetary or supply donation day of.
The event will be on August 29th from 10am to 12pm.

About Turbo the Flying Dog
Turbo the Flying Dog tells shelter dog Turbo's "tail" as he discovers he will finally have a new home and a family, but learns he must first get there by plane. Turbo has never seen a plane before, let alone flown in one, and as the story unfolds he discovers that he just may enjoy flying!
