OTR Truck Driver
Hill-Rom, a medical device company, is now looking to hire Class A, professional drivers to join our Distribution Operations Team! Description:
Under the direction of the Distribution Operations Manager the OTR Truck Driver is responsible for completing his assigned deliveries and pick-ups to and from our customers and vendors in a most professional and efficient manner. The driver will make calls to the Field Sales & Distribution Team confirm delivery of a wide variety of hospital equipment and medical devices and confirm any pick-ups that need to be made. This will be hands-off freight, requiring the driver to physically unload the trailer with the use of a hoist and other devices to assist with the heavy lifting.
Requirements for Professional Class A Truck Driver:
High School Diploma or GED required; two year Associate Technical Degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years current commercial Class A driving experience of a Dry Van or 18-wheeler.
Must be able to pass DOT physical, physical abilities test (PAT), background check, pre-employment drug screen and road test
Solid/stable and verifiable work history
Be able to provide current MVR report
Current U.S. Passport (or be eligible to obtain one)
Must be able to manage hours of service (HOS) using Qualcomm E-log System, MS Word, MS Excel.
Ability to push and/or pull up to 80 lbs.
Solid customer service and good communication skills.
Solid technical aptitude
Willingness to travel for periods up to one week.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with the standards for Continuous Improvement.
Dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Develops and maintains strong and effective relationships with various levels of internal and external customers.
Use of the hand-held device for tracking completed and assigned work.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with sales, co-workers, other departments and customers.
Ability to learn and comply with standard work processes/procedures as established by the Company.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Exhibits excellent time management skills. Meets project deadlines
Experience working in a warehouse or construction, preferred.
Experience working for a FDA regulated environment, preferred.
