Growing Construction Company seeking experienced Controller to be part of our Accounting team. The individual must have a dynamic take charge personality coupled with the ability to grasp new concepts quickly. Tasks include but are not limited to:
Oversee and review the accounting team: General Ledger, Accounting receivable, Accounts payable, and collections
Build and develop team capabilities to support and meet the company's values by establishing performance goals and objectives each year, while monitoring and advising on the progress to enhance the professional development of the team
Ensure the preparation of monthly financial statements are accurate and presented in a timely manner
Monitor, maintain and recommend changes to internal control procedures to ensure polices and procedures are functioning properly
Assist CEO with the development of annual budget and subsequent analysis of any variance between planned and actual results
Implement new policies and procedures communicated by the CEO.
Understand confidential operational data and safeguard accuracy
Provide continuous training to branch personnel on their financial tools.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by CEO
Ideal candidate should have Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 2+ years of experience (preferably in a construction company), and retain the following skills:
Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high performing teams
Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
Ability to prioritize and follow up on multiple projects
Thorough, organized and detailed oriented
Analytical, judgment and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in QuickBooks (Enterprise Version)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
