The Associated Students is recruiting for the position of Casual Cashier at Sutter Dining. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. The rate of pay for this position is $10.35 per hour with no more than 960 hours worked per fiscal year.

Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifications listed and are able to work the posted schedule will be considered. The schedule is Sunday 9:30am-1:30pm and 4:15pm-7:15pm (split shift), and Monday & Tuesday 10:15am-3:15pm and 4:15pm-7:15pm (split shift).
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with Associated Students. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current Associated Students employees who apply for the position.

Under general supervision to serve as a meal card checker/cashier for residence hall dining patrons; to handle and be responsible for cashiering functions; to maintain the security and appearance of the dining facility; and to do related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Uses computerized access system to insure that only eligible customers and guests enter the dining area.
Operates a cash register to record sales transactions.
Maintains cash security by transferring monies to safe as required.
Handles sales transactions for customers without meal cards, issuing receipts and refunds, as necessary.
Insures that the dining room operates in a clean and orderly manner during each service period.
Informs customers of dining facilities policies and procedures.
Provides assistance and support for security monitors.
Does some cleaning and straightening of dining area between meal service times.
Assists with special orders and records sales.
Carries out operating policies and procedures for a residence hall food service facility.
Provides work direction and coordination for student staff.
Represents residence hall food service with the campus community and the public, establishing and maintaining good customer relations.
One (1) year of responsible money handling work experience preferred.
Experience in a position involving constant public contact preferred.
No special requirements.
Must pass Department of Justice and FBI background clearance.
