The YW Boston Fund Development & Communications Associate supports the Fund Development team in executing a 150th Anniversary Campaign, increasing fund development revenue, and heightening the organization's visibility as a leader in racial, gender, and social equity work in the Boston. The Fund Development Associate achieves this by working with a small team of experienced development and marketing & communications professionals, and by collaborating with and supporting colleagues, senior managers, program staff and volunteers.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in English, communications, marketing, or a related subject, and one to two years of experience. Development experience is preferred.
Candidates must be excellent writers and possess superior verbal communication skills as well as excellent data entry and data management skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy are important, and demonstrated project management experience is preferred.
Associate will be the first point of contact for many donors and therefore must also demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to work effectively under pressure, take direction well, and take initiative when required.
Must be able to work well individually and also as part of a team.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point. Raiser's Edge, Constant Contact, and Adobe Creative Suite training and experience preferred
Maintain all donor records
Create and accurately maintain spreadsheets to track donor cultivation and stewardship
Run all required reports from Raiser's Edge for staff and Board.
Process and enter all gifts in the database
Provide monthly reports to the accounting department and reconcile receipts.
Maintain Constant Contact mailing lists for newsletters, annual reports etc.
Assist with analysis of social media and Constant Contact communications
Acknowledge all donations in a timely manner
Stewards and cultivates existing donors by supporting the development team in implementing Stewardship Plans and providing excellent customer service to donors and volunteers in-person and on the telephone.
Support Chief Executive Officer, Chief Development Officer, Director of Development, and Marketing Manager
Coordinate and execute direct mail, email, and social media fundraising campaigns.
Assist with planning and implementation of special events as needed
Assist with post-event analysis
Assist with production of communications and marketing materials as required.
Review key publications, summarize and share relevant news and findings
Participate in execution of social media strategy
Board and Volunteers
Coordinate meetings of Fund Development Committee and other volunteer committees as needed
Take minutes of Fund Development Committee and Development Team meetings
?Draft letters and coordinate the compilation of documents.
?Assist with development of materials and design for all YW Boston development communications, and special event activities.
?Positively represent the Agency in all interactions with the public.
?Support YW Boston program efforts through participation in education, outreach, cultivation and stewardship efforts.
?Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer and/or Director of Development
