We are a YMCA conference center located in Black Mountain and are currently seeking an experienced cook for a fast-paced, high volume kitchen serving buffet style meals.
Prepare high quality food with quantity, presentation, and timeliness being consistent.
Assist management as directed for efficient management of food, labor, and other costs in accordance with budget
. Maintain a clean kitchen, dish room, storage rooms, service areas, and coolers
. Maintain compliance with all sanitation regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum of one year practical work experience in related field.
Thorough knowledge of cooking, baking, cold salad, dessert preparation, and storeroom organization required.
Must be willing to work all necessary shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
Year-round position. Increased hours are available during peak season, including the late summer and fall. Year-round position paying $9.00 - $11.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
