KLRU TV, Austin's PBS seeks an Operations Technician to work in master control and broadcast studios. Qualified person should have experience in video, audio, non-linear editing, and RF television equipment. Operators perform specific duties related to the operation of a TV broadcast station. Simultaneous media deadlines to be expected. Must function in high-pressure environment and be part of a creative broadcast operations team.
Master control duties include transmitter reading measurement, on-air multiple stream control and observation, digital storage system operation and ingest, videotape recording and playback, live break switching, and editing/tagging station breaks.
Prior experience with routing systems and patch bays, video servers, and broadcast automation systems is necessary, and Avid and/or Adobe Creative Suite editing experience preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hours are variable and non-standard shifts.
Will perform other production and studio duties as necessary, and work under supervision of the Production & Operations Director.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred; prior experience working in a television master control environment.
