About You: The legal assistant position requires day to day coordination and close interaction with the Directors of Performance and Recruitment. This position requires the ability to work without extensive supervision, interact well with personnel from multiple functional and regional areas and operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The individual who will be successful in this role must be pro-active, detail oriented, and highly organized. This position requires the incumbent have a primary focus on assisting and development Compliance standards from the legal aspect for both departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Franchise Recruitment Responsibilities:
Work directly with Franchise Recruitment Director to properly disclose prospective franchise candidates with College Hunks Franchising, LLC franchise disclosure document
Prepare Franchise Agreements and related franchising documents i.e. amendments, addendums, and/or modifications
Liaison between College Hunks and the contracted out-house counsel
Manage franchise transfer process, including preparation of franchise transfer documents, organization of hard and electronic communication with the teams
Manage the Franchise Renewal process, including monitoring of franchise expirations, working with Performance to confirm eligibility for continued franchise relationship, FDD transmission and tracking, and managing franchise agreement execution process
Franchise Performance Responsibilities:
Oversee tracking of Franchisee Compliance
Manage post-termination/expiration process to ensure proper action
Work with field employees to address franchisee issues
Draft all default notices, cure notices, etc. for the existing franchise owners in our system
Overall Duties for College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving:
Assist with legal aspects of business transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions
Oversee collection, organization, and production of due diligence material for various matters
Compile, organize, update, and disseminate internal best practices for both departments when pertaining to legal and compliance
Related administrative responsibilities, such as filing, database management/maintenance, communications, and general follow-up tasks.
Assist on an as needed basis various legal services pertaining to the operation of the franchisor.
Required Education & Experience:
Associates Degree, Paralegal Certification or 3+ years of Franchising Legal Assistant Experience
Must have high level of Microsoft applications skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Experience with Cloud based database platforms a plus
Maintain the strictest confidentiality of legal and sensitive issues
Capability to manage and impart confidential information
Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills with a proven excellence in drafting, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to confidently interface with people; developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all levels of the organization, franchisees, vendors, staff and customers as a member of a service oriented team
Thrive in a fast-paced and growing industry.
