POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Practice Manager, this position is required to answer phones, confirm and schedule patient appointments, obtain and process accurate billing information, collect payments, filing, and assist with other duties as requested. This position will be responsible for chart preparation prior to the patient appointment to verify or obtain required paperwork. Duties include patient check in/out, and must be able to ask and collect payment from patients as needed. Must be able to learn and maintain active knowledge of the facilities' third party insurance contracts and have some knowledge and understanding of CPT and ICD-9 coding. Excellent customer service is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. A good command of the English language both verbally and written is required. Must have accurate typing skills at a minimum of 35 wpm, ability to problem solve, good organizational skills, good cash handling skills, ability to multi-task, excellent customer service. Ability to operate a computer with Word and database management skills.
