Seeking qualified candidates to perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, machines and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment. Create and revise processes and process controls as well as quality and quality instrumentation.
The Position Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
Develop, conduct research, and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification of equipment, components, and systems.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.
Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.
Supervise and evaluate work of production workers, technicians, technologists and other engineers.
Bachelor degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Product Engineering preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum 1-3 years experience in a machining engineer role preferred; automotive industry experience is a plus.
Excellent problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 2007 and Auto CAD/CATIA/3-D modeling; Solid Works and Pro-E preferred.
