Posting again about my dog, as his last home wasn't a success. Onyx is two years old, fixed, long haired purebred german shepherd. He has some service dog training for PTSD, so has very good leash manners, potty trained, non-food/toy aggressive, was raised with cats, very affectionate.
I am in the position to find him a new home as I am going through a separation/divorce and cannot keep all of my dogs where I am at. Because I have a service dog already, I am in the awful position to find him a new home, also, because he did not pass the final test. He is dog aggressive. He was raised with four other dogs, ranging in all sizes, and did amazing, but he was introduced to them as a puppy, and has never been good with strange dogs. I have two kids and he's been great with them as well as my nieces and nephews, but the last home he was placed in, he didn't get along very well with their kids all the time. He requires a lot of boundaries and a strong person who won't let him dominate the household. He also needs a home with someone who is willing to put in the work, as he is still young and has some dog-aggression issues and hasn't faired well in a home with lots of kids.
So I am only going to place him with someone who doesn't have kids, experience with german shepherds or other dominate/powerful breeds, and who clearly understands what he needs long term.
He is the most incredible dog. His last home adored him and could only say good things about him, but unfortunately he didn't do well with some of the kids.
Serious inquiries only. Re-homing fee applies.
