Looking for volunteers to take part in an approximately 75 minute experiment in exchange for $20 at the University of Chicago. Interested individuals are responsible for transportation fees; free street parking is available near the University, although it may be difficult to find for late morning appointments.
This experiment uses Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), a technology that runs a tiny (and completely safe) electrical current through your brain. This subtly changes the way your brain functions for about an hour after the stimulation ends. Throughout this study, you will perform a series of memory tests on a computer screen. For more information on tDCS, check out this article: www.nature.com/news/2011/110413/full/472156a.html
You are not eligible to participate in this study if:
- you are over age 29 or under 18
- are left-handed
- are pregnant
- have a history of seizures
- have a history of migraines
- have a pacemaker or other electronic implant, history of stroke, brain injury, or brain surgery
- taking any form of psychoactive drugs (including anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication)
- English is not your first language
All participants will be screened for this information upon arriving.
Finally, due to the nature of connecting the device, interested individuals must not be wearing wigs/hair extensions when coming into the laboratory.
Available appointments are available starting from tomorrow and continuing until September 1st, and are available on: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:00 AM-9:00 AM, 9:30 AM-10:30 AM, and 11:00 AM-12:30 PM.
If interested, please respond to this ad with your top 5 preferred appointment times, and I will contact you from there.
