Perform duties under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager:
Works with individuals with mild to profound developmental and physical disabilities, and non-disabled individuals. This position exists to instruct children and adults in the various aquatic programs, to protect life, to prevent accidents and perform required pool and facility maintenance. Ability to perform rescue techniques, administer C.P.R. and First Aid, react quickly, calmly and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more, ability to stoop, stand. push, bend, lift and carry. Must be able to swim and possess lifesaving skills. Must be able to hear conversations, calls and be able to see from a distance of no less than 75 yards. Must be able to speak clearly and concisely over the telephone as well as in person. Will be subject to various climatic changes throughout the year.
High School Grad, valid driver's license and 1 year experience teaching swim lesson. Must possess American Red Cross Rescuer, lifeguard certification and WSI, which must be submitted at the time of application. May be asked to travel to various locations to attend meetings and training.
Certified in Title 22 and adaptive aquatics instructor
