Review engineering files, documents, and models to complete manufacturing and processing of parts. Generate sequence of operations including all outside processing involved in components as well as assemblies. Assist in tool design required for the job, including templates, jigs, and fixtures to complete a project. Prepare a shop traveler which includes all pertinent information required to successfully complete the contract. Get involved with both technical and customer issues to insure that work is done on time and within budget. Maintain close customer contact to initiate product/process development including preparation of cost estimates and engineering change orders.
Create engineering packages to be distributed to Quality Control, programming, and planning using the control document system to maintain current revision levels.
Create solid models as required utilizing Solid Works. Generate dimensional sketches for Quality Control inspection plans as well as illustrated planning (IP) for shop/CNC operators.
Coordinate production with purchasing department to order supplies for specific projects. Write Purchase Requisitions in a timely manner to meet production and technical requirements.
P.O.C. for technical issues with customers and vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Able to read and interpret complex blueprint/designs
Must be familiar with raw materials, process engineering, and outside processes.
Write Travelers for all projects.
Coordinate with Sales, Estimating, Purchasing, Planning, Programming, Production, Inspection, and O/P Vendors to ensure production processes outlined in Travelers are accurate, communicated clearly to all readers, and materials and products arrive as needed to meet the Production Schedule. Required to work closely with members of these departments.
Set program goals to meet customer and company requirements for delivery, cost objectives, and transitioning of programs from Engineering development to Production modes.
Knowledge in establishing metrics for monitoring success of meeting goals.
Program cost control of preparing estimated costs to complete and continued monthly gross profit overview reporting utilizing the MRP system.
Report to the GM any issues that affect the Planning, Engineering, or scheduling of parts.
This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
An Engineering degree in Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
A minimum of five years related experience and/or training in a machine shop or aerospace manufacturer.
Knowledge of machining operations and equipment.
Proficient with common computer programs.
Proficient with Excel.
