An extroverted engineer
At Bio-Chem Fluidics, we know only two of these are mythical creatures. We're searching for the other one (if you don't know which one is real, you might want to skip this listing).
When you walk into a building, do you find yourself pondering critical joint beam deflection? Are amusement park rides more fun when they stop so you can see how they work, and think of ways to improve them? Can you pronounce Euler correctly? Do you like being the "go to" person for technical solutions? Do you call tech support, only to find you're training them -- and they thank you for it?
We're looking for a smart engineer who can walk into a customer's facility, look at their application, and devise solutions that makes their jaws drop and say, "how come we didn't think of that?" You're quick thinking, easy to talk to, diligent, and have great engineering analytical skills. You're ok with travel - you'll take a flight to customers in the Western US about once a month or so, or when they need support - around 20-30%. We want people who like getting things done and want to go places, both within their careers and around the US. We're a small, energized bunch of fluidic fanatics who work hard and play hard.
So what would your role be? You'll take our valves, pumps, and accessories and form them into solutions in the IVD/genomics, medical, and analytical chemistry markets. Sometimes you'll modify existing product; sometimes you'll create new accessories to products. You'll work on Solidworks CAD when needed. You'll take the applications knowledge you've learned and share it with the whole company to explore new product expansions and ideas. You might also get involved in some sustaining work to make our products better based on your experiences.
Experience with medical devices, fluidic systems, and engineering plastics are all a definite plus, but not a requirement. It just gets you up to speed faster, but that's not a problem for you because you catch on quick. Project management and leadership experience are also traits we'd be impressed to see.
If all of this sounds like a good self-description and a great opportunity, we'd like to talk to you about joining our team as an Applications Engineer. Email us your resume with a brief cover letter - we'd love to hear from you.
