Marketing Director, Global Strategic Marketing (Telecommunications)

Location: Charlotte, NC (May be some flexibility on the job location.)
Salary: $135K-$170K, pluck 20% performance bonus.

I. Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Vice President Marketing, The Global Strategic Marketing Director is a global role and is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategy for assigned segments or applications, developing / executing key product launches, and providing thought leadership/process/coaching associated with competitive/business intelligence, value prop development, audience appropriate messages, etc. Success is measured by ability to grow the segment revenue vs plan, internal/external assessment of launch quality, and customer satisfaction in core marketing areas processes.

II. Position Responsibilities:
Serve as the Segment Marketing Expert
Understand the market segment and associated applications
Develop segment expertise through engagement in the market
Create and execute segment marketing strategy including an integrated marketing plan (in collaboration with other parts of the organization)
Champion growth throughout the organization, and the external market
Brief Leadership on plans, progress, or other topics associated with the segment
Deliver Business Growth
Create, leverage, evaluate and improve marketing tools and processes to deliver growth
Assist other market segment managers in developing and deploying marketing strategies and messages into various market segments as appropriate
Collaborate with Sales, Market Development and Product Line Management to uncover potential opportunities
Engage with Marco and Sales Development to fully develop identified leads
Understand how to create value in addition to the supply of products; Provide coordination and leadership to the organization as we craft offerings
Develop tools, campaigns, seminars, or other creative means to generate leads
Prepare the organization to convert leads into opportunities
Provide Marketing Thought Leadership
Lead all aspects of the product launch / commercialization process -- from strategy creation to execution
Define value propositions and associated audience appropriate messaging for focus markets.
Establish business / competitive intelligence processes to improve quality of our go-to-market strategies as well as competitor specific strategies as assigned
Assist VP of Marketing and other market segment managers in developing and deploying marketing strategies and messages into various market segments as appropriate
Collaborate with Sales, Market Development and Product Line Management to uncover potential opportunities

Duties & Workflow:
Segment / Application Knowledge
Continuously improve your own and the organization's, knowledge of the focus segment or application across the value chain
Identify and engage with various market and industry opinion leaders to gain segment/application knowledge, information to help position our client as the leader
Measure and report on success and opportunity in the market.
Represent our client in the Marketplace
Present value proposition and marketing material at seminars and regional events to generate interest and leads for our client
Collaborate with Sales, PLM and Market Development to plan events. Work with Marco to execute.
Work to implement continuous improvement in our messaging to the market and verify that it is understood. Deliver the right messages and value propositions in partnership with Marco
Lead Identification and Conversion
Seek and qualify leads from multiple sources for the segment
Follow up on campaigns, programs or other lead generation activities
Work with Marco and Sales Development to create campaigns within a specific segment and geography
Create and/or leverage the process to pursue a sales lead with sales development. Seek to convert to opportunity and hand over to Sales.
Report on success at generating leads, converting leads and overall financial success
Create and/or assist other market segment managers with developing a market segment strategy and plan that includes growth.
Test and deploy marketing tools to sales teams in support of segment
Evaluate financials for the value proposition against known or new market data. Ensure the value proposition remains effective. Keep sales equipped to close opportunities
Engage with sales teams to ensure they understand and have the tools to effectively present value. Work to make them successful with any value propositions in delivering revenue.
Lead commercialization teams for products or solutions.
Act as advisor to a commercialization team on any segment-specific topic.

III. Position Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a marketing role.
Demonstrated ability to act independently and operate under minimal supervision.
Flexibility to operate across various geographical or structural market segments
Demonstrated creativity in new and different ways to fully leverage the capabilities of our client, Inc.
Demonstrated technical aptitude (ability to learn about products)
Recognized marketing thought leader in the areas of product launch, messaging, and strategy creation
Bachelor's degree in a marketing or business related area (or a technical degree with appropriate business experience)

Position Requirements
Travel: ~30% (Domestic and International Travel)

Compensation is a base, commensurate with experience.
Salary: $100K-$100K.
