General Responsibilities
The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the work of specialty graft engineers and production staff engaged in designing and producing human bone and other specialty tissue allografts for use by surgeons in implantation procedures.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering or related science, technology, or engineering discipline.
5 years of product development experience required preferably in medical or pharmaceutical industry.
Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Experience in all levels of bio-manufacturing states including freeze-drying, sterilization, DBM, and packaging and working in a laboratory and/or clean room environment.
Project Management Professional Certification Preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Medical Director and other medical professionals to design and develop specialty allografts, using the principles of engineering and medical sciences.
Present and explain proposals, recommendations, or findings to clients.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
Direct the design of specialty spinal allografts by engineers using computer-aided design (CAD) software
Direct, review, or approve design changes.
Direct the production of specialty allografts from donated human bone by technicians using CNC equipment.
Enforce FDA, AATB, and state rules and regulations and enforce PTT policies and procedures at all times.
Confer with QA, QC, and other staff to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and to ensure that safety, cGMP, and cGTP procedures are followed at all times.
Confer with management, production, or marketing staff to discuss project specifications or procedures.
Conduct associate training in equipment operation and work and safety procedures, or assign associate training to experienced workers.
Evaluate individual performance and provide mentoring and discipline to direct reports.
