Hand painted and signed Limoge porcelain cup and saucer. Painted by Ida C. Failing, she is listed in the "Who Was Who In American Art". Failing was an artist and illustrator in Colorado from 1857 to 1918. She was a member of the Denver Keramic Club where this piece was done as a souvenir to her own collection. She is best known for her illustrations of the 1902 book "Buttercups and Clover and Other Verses" by Arthur Ward. Failing had her own decorating studio. Her signed pieces of porcelain are rarely found in today's antique market and can cost as much as $1300. The saucer is 4 3/4" in diameter. The cup is 3" wide and 2" high. The two pieces are in perfect condition. $900. Delivery is extra and can be arranged for in Colorado.
