We're looking for a great communicator and organizer who can work in two capacities: content writer and compliance monitor.
We're a small software start-up in Manhattan and we're looking for another smart person to join our team. Marketing experience is a big plus, but not a requirement. However, it would be swell if you're smart, quick, and tech savvy, because things move pretty fast and your responsibilities can grow with your abilities.
Content Writer Responsibilities
You need to be able to write clear and appealing copy for:
help desk items
We push out a lot of copy, and it all needs to have personality while being exceedingly, even excessively, accessible. As an example, the previous sentence had some personality, but was not terribly user-friendly.
You'll help organize the marketing efforts, which are mostly inbound. Familiarity with HubSpot looked upon very favorably.
Stay on top of marketing trends, both in content and form. If you don't currently know marketing, that's fine, as long as you're a quick learner.
Compliance Monitor Responsibilities
Help us keep companies in line! Monitor the behavior of companies with which we do business to make sure they're following the rules.
Communicate via email and phone with representatives who may not want to impart information that they are required to share. Be persistent, creative, thick-skinned, and observant.
You need to be very organized and a great note-taker, because you'll be collecting and tracking a lot information. You must be able to report back on that information, noting both:
specific transactions and communications in detail
patterns in that information
Some things you should know about us and the job:
We're not in a glamorous industry, but we're a tech start-up with a lot of the benign start-up attributes.
We are a small crew of fewer than 10, so please be a nice person; mean people have a disproportionate impact.
You'll have two major job functions, but you may be asked to contribute in a number of different ways to help the company.
Finally, not to be difficult, but please don't waste our time and your time. If you had to look up any of the words in this posting, you're probably not qualified for the job.
This is a full time position.
Salary: $60,000/year plus health insurance
Start date: as soon as possible
