We are looking for reliable individuals with strong communication skills, flexible schedules, and STRONG ATTENTION TO DETAIL to attend/observe legal depositions and proofread transcripts.

We are open to anyone who is reliable, trustworthy, and who pays EXTREME attention to detail.

Deposition monitors will observe depositions and will very carefully proofread the transcript afterward.

Contact Information:
Please send a resume, the answers to the below questions, AND your Monday-Friday schedule/availability. We are accepting applications until August 1st.

1.Our business works like this: clients call us and tell us the date and time of their deposition. We then check the availability schedules (that you will be providing- see #3) and assign the deposition to one of our independent contractors (you). Are you comfortable with just being scheduled on the days of your availability? For example, if you tell us you are available Monday-Wednesday, if a law firm has a deposition on a Tuesday, you would be scheduled and expected to be available. How would that work for you?

2.Innovative Court Reporters is not able to guarantee a minimum number of hours per week. Due to the nature of our business, it entirely depends on our client needs. That being said, our business is growing rapidly. Within six months, we should be able to offer all of our independent contractors at least 8-16 hours per week. Still, we cannot guarantee anything. How do you feel about the fact that ICR cannot guarantee a minimum number of hours per week?

3.Please let us know your availability Monday-Friday. Please be as detailed as possible. We are looking for candidates with fairly open schedules (or at least a few days of the week that are quite "open"). Please be very, very specific. Please let us know if you anticipate your schedule changing in the near future.

4.Deposition monitors need to be able to use a computer, Microsoft Word, and upload basic files. Please comment on this requirement.

5.Deposition monitors need to have their own reliable transportation as all depositions will take place at law firms and conference rooms in the greater Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) area. Do you own your own reliable car?

6.Deposition monitors MUST be PROMPT and PUNCTUAL. We are looking for people who will be early to all depositions and who will reply to emails and phone calls PROMPTLY. We are looking for people who check their email and phone messages at least twice a day. Please comment on this requirement.

7.Innovative Court Reporters does not pay for travel expenses. Are you comfortable with this?

8.If you do not live in the Twin Cities area, what is the name of the city you live in? How many minutes away from Minneapolis do you live (driving time)? How will you make sure the longer distance will not affect your punctuality? How will you plan for traffic, accidents, etc. so that you can still be early to all depositions?

9. Please describe your experience with proofreading and editing.

10. Are you a notary public?
