This is a Rare EDMOND J. NOGAR ORIGINAL OIL ON PLATE GLASS FLORAL STUDY. This mid twentieth century original work of art uses a three dimensional technique that used oil paints in reverse on the back of multiple layers of glass to acheive a dramatic effect and a life like floral display.
This work is signed by the artist in the lower right corner and on the back of the peice but it took a Black Light to be able to see it.
There is a certificate of authenticity wich is numbered A-8146 on the back of the peice, but again, is not visible to the naked eye. The back of the peice is also signed with his full name. Edmond J. Nogar wich is visible only with a Black Light. It also states, Hand Painted - Hand Made - Bowie Belair, MD.
His works are becomming highly collectible and this is your chance to own one. The size of the artwork and frame is 7 1/2 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall.
For an extremely modest price you can own an original artwork that's likely to increase with value as it ages. The artist passed away in the mid to late 1980's so no additional works are being produced and the value of his peices continues to increase.
I will admit that all though I don't know much about this peice, it looks as if it was hung somewhere with moisture. Like, a bathroom. I also believe due to some sort of moisture, the label has become unreadable to the naked eye. You must hold the peice under direct sunlight, while moving it around to make out any of the wording. Or...hold it underneath a Black Light and every thing vaguely appears. Between each glass, there appears to be water stains or stains form moisture, but it does not appear to have touched the painting itself. If you notice in the photos, on the sides next to frame, there is a sort of white filmy "haze" on the glass. Again, it doesn't affect the paiting itself
Also, there is a very small chip on the left bottom side of the frame, but very repairable. ( See Photo )
