Butler Creek #8, is a 20 acre unpatented gold placer mining claim located in Missoula County, State of Montana. It is in the SE Quarter Section of Section 19,Township 16N, Range 22 W. The County Recordation # is 201206054.
The Creek is not open to mechanized dredging, but high banking or a hand suction device works fine. There is year around access, beautiful country with deer, elk and turkey. Access is off of I 90 and is about 30 miles away form Missoula. You won't find a more beautiful area in Montana. Butler #8 is the most easterly of my claims and it is located on Forest Service ground. The creek flows year round and goes form end line to end line 1320 feet. You'll never get skunked on Butler Creek. It is about 20 miles or so form Missoula with the last two miles being gravel.Butler Creek has always intrigued me as it was mentioned in an old written bureau mines write up. I was particularly interested in the mentioning of gold laden eskers at the front of the glaciers. An esker is a berm of glacial alluvium deposited by under ice raging rivers. I found one of those eskers as I was locating one of the claims. I tested the creek and an esker with very good results, finding small littel chunky nuggets and flakes. The price is so reasonable as we have did all the leg work and filed all papers with the county. Please feel free to call me regarding this claim or any others that I might have that would work better for you, Call John (208)682-0413 or Bobby (208)215-4036.
