Property Management Company with a 96-unit Apartment Community located Naperville is looking for an F/T maintenance technician with AT LEAST 2 years of residential property management experience.

The Service Technician is responsible for performing various maintenance functions that are neccessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. They work with the Manager and an Area Service Manager to ensure that the quality of work meets the standards set by the company. The Community is in the process of undergoing some partial renovations and changes due to a change in ownership. therefor, someone who is organized, patient with good communication skills is needed. The position also requires self motivation as after the renovations are completed; the technician will be the sole employee assigned to daily maintenance services.

EDUCATION: A high school education or equivalent is required
• Must be able to lift a minimum 45lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must live close to the community at wich you are employed, and be available to assist in after-hours emergency situations.
• Must be available for night/weekend call duty.
• Must have the knowlege and ability to perform the following duties:
a) Plumbing repairs
b) repair/replace locks, smoke alarms
c) Replace screens
d) Appliance repair
e) Electrical repairs
f) Roofing inspection
h) HVAC repairs
i) Replace broken windows
j) Comply with OSHA regulations
In addition to the skills listed above, the Service Technician is responsible for completion of the following duties:
• Complete resident requested service orders on a timely basis.
• Complete all assigned maintenance work on vacant apartments
• Comply with all OSHA regulations and any applicable laws in your area regarding health, safety, or enviroment.
• Order maintenance supplies with approval form Service Manager.
• Ensure building lights and intercoms are working properly.
• Install new appliances as neccessary.
• Assist Property Manager/office personnel as needed in emergency situations.
• Consult with Property Manager and/or Service Manager on major repairs, replacements and/or contracts.
