Jewish Vocational Service, JVS, transforms lives by helping people build skills and find jobs to acheive self-sufficiency. JVS is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization founded in 1973, with a current operating budget of $7 million. JVS plays a leadership role in collaborative employment and training efforts throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and in workforce policy development and advocacy at local, state and federal levels.

The Director of Planning and buisness Development is a senior leadership position at JVS, leading JVS's efforts to develop new buisness partnerships, and to identify, develop and incubate new programs. These programs will incorporate fresh strategies to help people develop competitive skills and advance in their careers, as well as to help buisnesses meet their hiring and training needs. This position leads agency-wide strategies for targeting employer partners within specific industry sectors, such as health care, technology and buisness services and drives employer engagement within JVS, to develop job and networking opportunities for JVS clients. The Director of Planning and buisness Development drives the strategic planning process, as well as annual planning, with significant involvement of other JVS staff and Board members.

This position works closely and collaboratively with external partners, and serves as a catalyst within JVS for innovation, new program development and quality improvement. As part of the JVS eexcutive Team, this position reports directly to the eexcutive Director and collaborates closely with the Director of Programs, the Director of Development, as well as the JVS Board of Directors and volunteers.

We are looking for demonstrated leadership experience and success in buisness and program development and planning, preferably in a workforce or educational setting, a creative, entrepreneurial leader with the ability to initiate, lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong problem solving skills, and familarity with strategic planning, policy analysis, program evaluation methods, tools and data. Strong candidates will have outstanding analytical, writing, research, and presentation skills, and an excellent understanding of the use of technology, preferably including Salesforce.

An advanced degree in a relevant field such as buisness Administration, Public Policy or Planning is prefered.
