Xbox Tester
Responsible for writing baseline test specifications, functional test cases, test specifications for a sub-area of a project or test results for an area or test pass. Also responsible for bug reproduction cases and scenario.
Strong knowlege of computers and software/games. Ability to install and configure a PC form operating system through to productivity software (Office, etc). Good written and oral communication skills. Strong problem solving skills. One or more years experience working in a software development/testing enviroment. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or Bachelors in Computer Science a plus.
Ideal candidates would have some testing background, with games/Xbox testing prefered but not required. Candidates should at least be familar with the Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE ecosystem (understand what LIVE is and how to navigate the Xbox Dashboard using a controller). Tester should have a high level of attention to detail and good bug writing skills. Experience with TFS a plus.
enviroment:
The team has a very casual and laid back culture. We do have quite a lot of work on the team so people are expected to stay busy and on top of their testing but individuals are allowed to manage their time appropriately. Priorities can change rapidly for the team and testers are expected to be able to take new instructions and change directions at a moment's notice. Collaboration by the test team is highly encourages since we cover so many scenarios that involve multiple users.
Day to Day Activities:
The testers will be executing about 95% manual test cases. There will be some test cases that require the tester to run partial automation (via running existing scripts) then manually verify the results. Testers will execute pre-written test cases form within TFS and will be using TFS to log and update any bugs found during their testing.
