EndoGastric Solutions, Inc. is a fast-growth medical device technology Company revolutionizing the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
We currently have an opportunity in Redmond, WA for a Sustaining/R&D Engineer who will provide support for released EndoGastric Solutions products.
*Perform device support and sustaining activities for released EndoGastric Solutions products including MRB, component non-conformances and CAPAs.
*Provide input to development activities for new products or upgrades to existing products.
*Troubleshoot issues on products currently being manufactured and perform failure and data analysis. Participate in analyzing, evaluating, and designing solutions to problems affecting product manufacturability or reliability
*Verify the design and participate actively in validation planning and testing.
*Analyze product designs to expose potential failures and develop ways to mitigate against those potential failures.
*Define, develop, and perform verification and validation of subsystems and components against established specifications.
*Resolve field reliability issues by establishing root cause and developing a process or design solution.
*Provide mechanical engineering support for other projects as required, including test fixtures, manufacturing fixtures and sterile packaging design.
*Ensures all activities are in compliance with Quality System requirements.
*Provide support in new product transition to Manufacturing.
*Plans and executes laboratory research and draws conclusions form test results.
*May train and/or provide direction to technicians.
*Recommend appropriate measurement tools and processes for inspection.
*Assist in analyzing floor rejections and receiving inspection rejections to determine cause for failure and provide trend data.
*Support Receiving Inspection in metrology and product specification issues
*Strong problem solving skills in a mechanical assembly enviroment.
*Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
*BSME with two or more years in technical field (less experience with a MS), preferably in medical device design and development.
*Training and expertise in a discipline related to device development, i.e. polymer engineering and processing, joining methods, injection molding, machining, rapid prototyping and related mechanical fabrication techniques.
*Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and participating in design reviews and integrating design feedback form peers.
*Experience using common shop tools such as drill press, milling machine, lathe
*Experience with Word documents, spreadsheets, drawings, etc.
*Excellent written, verbal and sketch/drawing communication skills
*Experience developing and documenting designs in accordance with established QSR requirements. Understanding of EN and ISO standards a plus.
*Documenting design work via lab notebook and engineering drawings.
*Experience providing input to project related documentation as needed.
*3D CAD design and related software required. Proficiency using Solidworks prefered.
*Experience using Finite Element Analysis software a plus.
*Has the ability to work on tight timelines with minimal supervision.
*familar with mechanical test and measurement tools.
*familar with microscopes and standard laboratory equipment.
