Unusual Grimwades Royal Winton 'Chanticleer' Rooster Small Pitcher c1939
This is an unusual 1930's art deco period crème pitcher in the very collectable Grimwades 'Chanticleer' or 'Rooster' design. A rare and early version, It is a fat rooster with feathers of yellow, orange, brown and green . It has a long tail of black and green and a bright orange beak and feet. Its head forms the spout and the tail is the handle. It is marked inside the base, in circular art deco, "Royal Winton Grimwades Made in England" in gold. It measures 6 3/4" tall at the head, 7 1 /2" long at its form tail to chest, with a 2 1/4" by 4 1/2" opening. Its capacity is about 2 cups. It is in good condition, no chips, cracks or restoration. A rare item wich still displays beautifully.
