San Diego based Company that is a Global Leader in the media industry is searching for an experienced Audio Video Design and Solutions Engineer for immediate hire! Their innovative, industry leading products involve streaming media (music and video), digital signage, and messaging technologies.

Position Duties Include:
Coordinating and managing the quote generation of all potential biddable audio, video and control system installations for client sites.
Assisting in qualification and training of installation vendors. Directs and manages pre-bid materials acquisition, bid related analysis, bid preparation and processing of supporting documentation
Directing and managing site survey and walk-through, blue print and specification analysis, blue print take-off, specification correlation, analysis and identification of equipment, requests for infomation and other bidding document administration, pricing of equipment, labor, engineering, hardware, cabling, per diems, accomodations, shipping/handling and other costs using computer spreadsheet and custom software products.
Scheduling the prompt delivery and submittal of bidding documents and follow-up.
Continually advancing personal knowlege of equipment, hardware, labor statistics cabling, trends and other aspects of estimation for A/V bids.
Communicate to the VP Operations completed estimates and infomation regarding performance, contractual issues, bid status, additional and/or non-standard bid requirements and potential schedules, issues, opportunities and risks.
Coordinate and/or direct assisting employees in the bidding process; specification sheet interpretation and substitute identification;
Create customer prototypos and masters.
Benchmark and document 3rd party solutions, both hardware and software.
Communicating with internal staff and external customers and vendors regarding equipment, installations, etc.
Completing timely estimates of costs and quantities of equipment, labor and associated job costs for A/V sales and installations using comparative and differential estimating techniques.
Maintaining all applicable databases used in developing the cost and quantity estimates. Complete neccessary project option estimates.
Providing escalated technical support for customer service for incomming/outgoing calls as neccessary.
Prepare and perform customer demos. Present technical benefits of solutions to small and large audiences.

MUST HAVE minimum of 5-10 years of experience designing and installing complex video (and ideally audio) systems video security systems, and/or control systems
MUST HAVE Proficiency with range of estimating techniques, Auto Cad, Word, Excel, project management tools.
Ability to work independantly; Self motivated/Self starter, results oriented, team player; Ability to manage multiple priorities.
familarity with Extron, AMX, Crestron or other highly complex video systems is prefered.
Polished and professional demeanor; must be comfortable presenting to eexcutives at customer sites for demos, and throughout the sales and installation process.
Excellent communication skills -- both written and verbal
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the U.S.
MUST BE based in San Diego, CA; Relocation expenses paid depending on candidate fit.
AA/AS degree or BS degree highly prefered
