Global Publishing Company located in Philadelphia seeks a Financial Analyst for an immediate long term temp position.
The Financial Analyst provides financial support and services to buisness Controllers / buisness Units (management infomation, budgets, forecasts, strategy plans, and buisness cases for projects, recharges and analyses). Financial Analyst provides finance expertise and works as a liaison with buisness Controllers form the company's buisness units, project managers of development projects and Group Finance. Financial Analyst assists buisness Controllers with critical and analytical challenges within buisness unit and Group Finance. Financial Analyst helps buisness Controllers to create and maintain internal controls for the buisness Unit.
Financial Analyst assists buisness Controllers with providing budgets, forecasts, strategy plans and monthly management infomation to buisness Unit (BU). (40% of time)
-Financial Analyst supports the co-ordination, compilation and review of budget and forecasts within GF timetables by maintaining shared reporting files, analysis reports and presentations.
-Evaluations and ad hoc analyses as and when required.
-Financial Analyst is independantly responsible for co-ordination, compilation and review of budgets, forecasts, strategy plans and monthly reporting for smaller Shared Functions buisness units within GF timetables.
Financial Analyst supports effective and efficient internal control framework. (20% of time)
-Monitor and control reporting systems to ensure the integrity of infomation.
-Maintain rejister and provide feedback on outstanding internal and external audit points.
-Ensure that the results of the buisness unit are compliant with international accounting standards, the company's accounting policies and Sarbanes Oxley among others through calculating accruals for costs not yet invoiced and by monitoring prepayments (i.e. software licenses)
Financial Analyst assists buisness Controllers in providing specific expertise to Shared Functions and other company buisness units (for recharged costs) with regard to expenses, investments, buisness models and back office procedures. (20% of time)
-Provide assistance to buisness Controllers on financial matters to improve understanding of the financial implications for the buisness unit's activities.
-Solve issues with the FSSC on payment and coding of invoices and expenses
-Provide expertise, infomation and clarification to buisness controllers of Elsevier buisness units serviced by Shared Functions on recharged spend for actuals, forecasts and buisness cases.
Ad Hoc Projects (20% of time)
-Support buisness Controllers and Directors in preparing ad hoc analysis and preparing presentations.
oBachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. An advanced degree in a financial discipline is prefered.
o2-4 years financial and/or accounting experience required
