Very scarce special finish Victrola XVI in American Walnut. About 99% of the Victrolas
you see on the market are either mahogany or oak. A very tough to find machine at a reasonable
price. Works and sounds excellent. Will consider trades or cash/trade deals for other antique phonographs.
I have personally restored the original 3 spring motor in this machine. All three springs have been cleaned
and re-greased with lithium moly grease. After 5 years of overhauling Victor motors, I have found this
to be the ideal grease for these machines. The Victrola "gurus" out of state provide this same service
for $200 or more plus 2-way shipping. I overhaul all of the phonographs in my collection and this translates
to added value in the machines I sell. No thumping, bumping, or erratic performance. Smooth, quiet, and as powerful
as it came form the Victor factory in 1916. Data plate: 111944 H.
In addition, new authentic style gasket material has been installed in the original Exhibition reproducer. Most phonographs on
the market now have old gaskets that are hard, and as a result the sound quality suffers. For such an early acoustical
instrument, you will be amazed by the sound quality of this machine.
