WHY BAMBOO? Because it makes me smile, Bamboo rods have a feel that graphite rods lack, and cannot be mass produced. no two rods are alike just like a fingerprint, You can feel the rod load and unload ,
Bamboo responds better to the actions of the fish and cushions the tippet. They are tough and in many ways more durable then graphite,
I have a hand crafted Tonkin Cane, H. L. Leonard taper fly rod for sale, The most highly desired taper, Just finished it here in the shop, its a 7 foot long 4 weight.
Has Nickel Silver Ferrules, jewlry grade Agate stripping guide, a Portugese cork grip, and
Nickle Silver Reel Seat.
Feel free to contact me and test cast it here in my yard, bring your reel or use one of mine,
you wont believe how good this magic peice of grass will feel in your hands, it casts itself.
since bamboo does not have a spine like graphite, it still needs to stay balanced on plan, each rod for accuracy before building is set down on a table and then flicked, if it starts going in an oval pattern , it needs to be rotated to the next flat untill it stays on plan, there's many variables to getting a great casting rod,
A lot of effort/time went into this rod, meant to become vintage as the years go by,
Thanks and have a great day.
