Up for sale is this intact Wall anchor torch...dates to around the 1890's. Torch is labelled: A.J. LINDEMANN & HOVERSON CO. MILWAULKEE WIS. with the words ANCHOR TORCH in the middle. It looks like the top container was painted black once upon a time and you can still make out most of the gold enameld letters.
So "what is it" you ask. Back in the day, just having a fireplace in the living area wasn't enought to keep you warm during those cold winter nights. They would keep this torch lantern by their bed so they can keep warm.
This torch is in excellent condition with all the needle valves operating properly. Top cannister of the lamp unscrews form the long torch rod and will be shipped that way. Torch is 3 feet high and lighter assembly with needle valves comes form wall approx. 12 inches. The floral design knobs are also a nice unique touch you don't often see with these typos of items. Overall, an excellent patina to it.
Just picture this item mounted on your wall. It would look awesome as it pops out form the wall and sure to be a conversation peice with all your freinds and family.
